The Bahujan Samaj Party has stepped up its preparations for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2027. Party chief Mayawati is working on a strategy to activate the organisation and strengthen the BSP’s role in the electoral field. At a meeting held in Lucknow, she discussed election preparations and the state of the organisation with party office-bearers and workers.

Mayawati’s strategy is said to be centred on three key points. These include reuniting the party’s traditional Dalit vote bank, expanding the organisation’s reach to other social groups, and activating workers at the booth level. Along with this, the party may also emphasise strengthening its old support base and connecting with new voters.

The BSP’s effort is to present itself as a strong political alternative in the upcoming Assembly election, so that it retains an independent role in the state’s electoral contest. For this, preparations are being made to increase organisational meetings, public outreach and grassroots activity.

The challenge before Mayawati will be to rebuild the party’s earlier influence and increase support among various social groups. In the coming months, the BSP’s activities and organisational decisions may make the direction of its election strategy clearer.
