A farewell ceremony was organized at the Department of Journalism, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU). On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari said that studying journalism makes you unique. The field of journalism is so vast that one can reach the peak of any subject and ask questions. It is a discipline that expands your reach. Your wings should be ready for a long flight — there are no boundaries in this field.

During the event, the Vice Chancellor announced the establishment of a hi-tech production house at the university. According to Tiwari, this initiative will be a milestone in the practical education of students.

The event was attended by Head of Department Rakhi Tiwari, along with faculty members and a large number of students. The farewell ceremony, organized for final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students of the department, included cultural performances and various entertaining activities by the students.

Vice Chancellor Tiwari encouraged the students and extended his best wishes for their future. He referred to the Department of Journalism as the “sanctum sanctorum” of the university and said,

“A degree is just a gate pass — beyond that, it holds no value. You will be evaluated every single day. It’s up to you to find ways to deal with the stress of this profession. Wherever you go, seek out and spend time with the wise and learned people of that place. Don’t settle for minor compromises. Set big goals.”

He also advised students to write well and read extensively.
