CNN Central News & Networks / ITDC India ePress / ITDC News /Agencies/ Bhopal: A workshop on mobile photography was held at MCU, where students learned the finer points of light, camera, subject and object while using a mobile camera.
Bhopal. Photography is a visual art. In it, pictures are created through a camera with the help of images and light. Many essential things are needed for photography. The first thing required for photography is perspective. It is a very broad subject. In fact, three or four people can take the same photograph in different ways. Apart from this, it is also necessary to pay attention to details such as the subject, object, frame, light and background of a photograph.
These points were made by Mr Virendra Singh, senior executive of Canon company, during a mobile photography workshop organised by the Department of Cinema Studies at MCU. He was discussing the basics of taking better photographs through mobile phones with the students.
At the workshop, main speaker Virendra Singh said photography has three different stages: pre-production, production and post-production. After a photograph is taken, editing or finishing it has also become increasingly important in this art today. Earlier, editing work could not be done on photographs. Once a photograph was captured, it was not possible to edit anything in it. But today, technology has made it possible to edit and improve photographs further.
A special evening session on effective photographs was also held during the workshop, focusing on photography with light and other effects. In this session, students were introduced to the finer points of galaxy photographs, special light-effect photographs and related techniques. In the evening, students learned photography skills on subjects such as nature, galaxy, buildings and other themes on the university campus in a distinct natural environment.
After this, students were given various photography subjects on the campus as practice. During hands-on practice, each student learned to take photographs on their assigned subject and understand the finer points of editing them in post-production.
Programme convener Gajendra Awasya introduced the subject at the beginning and told the students about the importance of photography. Head of Department Professor Pavitra Shrivastava welcomed the chief guest and addressed the students. Students and teachers of the department were present at the programme.
