CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The annual festival Pratibha-2026 was held at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU). The event took place at the Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Auditorium in the Vishankhedi campus. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari, along with the Dean of Student Welfare and the Dean of Academics, inaugurated the program by offering floral tributes and lighting lamps before the portraits of Maa Saraswati, Dada Makhanlal Chaturvedi, and Bharat Mata.
During the event, Vice-Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari stated that the Pratibha program is a significant initiative of the university. It provides a strong platform for students to showcase their talents in arts, sports, and other creative skills. He emphasized that such skills can be valuable assets for students in their future professional lives.
He also highlighted that Hindi journalism is approaching its 200th year, noting the historical importance of the first Hindi newspaper started in the interests of the Indian people. He stated that the university plans to organize a large-scale program reflecting the diverse dimensions of contemporary Indian media.
The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the excellent work of the students and encouraged them to practice continuously to achieve outstanding performance in their future professional careers.

On this occasion, students Mayank Anand and Kartika Gothwal from the Department of Journalism unveiled a specially designed logo for the ceremony, which combines elements of sports and performing arts under the tagline “The Confluence of Art and Sports.” Adjunct Professor Anup Datta guided the students in the logo design.
During the inaugural session, student Dabiru Mohna of the Department of Mass Communication performed a Ganesh Vandana through Odissi dance, and Aryan Vajpayee, a postgraduate student of Digital Journalism, recited his original poem. The colorful opening session also featured singing performances by Abhiraj Mishra, Astha Sharma, Parth Gautam (Department of Journalism), Dhruv Acharya (Department of Advertising & Public Relations), and Manthan Arya, a BCA student from the Computer Department. The program was hosted by Assistant Registrar Vivek Savrikar.
As part of Pratibha-2026, competitions in Rangoli, Original Poetry Recitation, Feature Writing, Poster Making, and Mobile Short Film Making were conducted. Students from both undergraduate and postgraduate levels actively participated in all categories.
The inaugural session of Pratibha-2026 was attended by all students and faculty members of the university, marking a vibrant and engaging start to the festival celebrating talent, creativity, and teamwork.
