Tanay Sharma, a student of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU), Bhopal, spotted two speech and hearing impaired children begging for money under suspicious circumstances. The incident took place within the university campus, where the children appeared frightened and distressed.
Showing empathy and presence of mind, Tanay immediately took charge of the situation and informed Vice-Chancellor Vijay Manohar Tiwari.
A certificate was found with the children that mentioned an address in Ambedkar Nagar. They also had some cash and a scanner in their possession. Acting swiftly, Vice-Chancellor Tiwari contacted Kripashankar Chaubey, an officer from the Child Development Department.
Soon after, Rati Bhad Police Station officers arrived on the scene and took the children into safe custody. The university administration, treating the matter with utmost seriousness, has requested the relevant authorities to identify the children, locate their families, and ensure their protection.
This incident stands as a shining example of Tanay Sharma’s social responsibility and sensitivity. The university administration has commended his commendable initiative.
