CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : A recent research study titled “An Analytical Study of Media Management of Major Political Parties in Madhya Pradesh” conducted by Yogesh Patel, a research scholar from LNCT University, Bhopal, reveals that both digital and traditional media—especially in the context of political campaigns—play a decisive role in shaping youth opinions and enhancing democratic participation.

Supervised by Prof. Anu Srivastava, the study suggests that transparency, ethical campaigning, and the effectiveness of communication are vital to strengthening democracy. The research is a significant attempt to understand youth political awareness, the role of media, and social influence.

The study specifically focused on seven assembly constituencies of Bhopal district — Bhopal North, Bhopal South-West, Narela, Huzur, Govindpura, Berasia, and Bhopal Central. The research analyzed the perceptions, awareness, and media influence on 384 first-time voters during the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections.

This study will soon be published as a book for general readers, journalism and political science students, and researchers, serving as a valuable resource for academic study, research, and policymaking. Additionally, there are plans to expand this research in the future.

On this occasion, the researcher received congratulations from senior members of PRSI, faculty from Rabindranath Tagore University, and his mentors from Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication.

This research, conducted by Yogesh Patel—currently working as an Assistant Professor at Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, and Joint Secretary of PRSI Bhopal Chapter—has been appreciated by media educators across India and is expected to serve as a useful foundation for future academic studies.

Research Findings:

The study concludes that media management strategies not only deeply influence public perception, but also shape electoral outcomes. While political campaigns do increase voter participation, transparent and ethical communication is crucial. The research emphasizes that personalized media strategies should be designed considering different population groups, ensuring that every voter receives accurate and useful information to make informed decisions.

Ultimately, the study highlights the changing trends in political communication and the decisive role of media in the democratic process.
