CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the chairmanship of SIR Observer of the Election Commission of India and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Department of Commerce, Shri Brajmohan Mishra, a meeting of the Standing Committee was held on Friday at the Collector’s Office to review updated information related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls – SIR-2026.
During the meeting, discussions were held with political parties on the updated progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision-2026 (SIR) in Bhopal district, in compliance with the directions of the Election Commission of India.
Collector and District Election Officer Kaushalendra Vikram Singh informed that 72.73% mapping work has been completed across 7 Assembly constituencies in Bhopal district. He stated that 6.41% of voters are currently recorded in the mapping data, and all BLOs (Booth Level Officers) have been instructed to re-verify mapped voters. For this purpose, the entire SIR team—including the Collector, SDMs, and Tehsildars—is conducting door-to-door verification to review voters and ensure their names are correctly included in the electoral rolls.
All voters in Bhopal who have not yet submitted their enumeration forms have been appealed to submit them at the earliest, so that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral list. The district administration is actively working to ensure a clean, accurate, and comprehensive voter list.

The SDR list has been made available to all political parties, and information regarding non-mapping cases is also being shared with their representatives. BLOs and BLAs are jointly collecting and verifying voter information across the district.
During the meeting, representatives of various political parties presented several suggestions to enhance public convenience, including fixing locations for BLO and AERO meetings in such a way that voters do not have to travel long distances for the claims and objections process. The administration assured that all constructive suggestions would be implemented to make the process more accessible and transparent.
Officials also informed that absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate entries have been reviewed, and necessary action will be taken accordingly. If any voter personally submits a claim within the stipulated time, their name will be updated as per rules.
District Election Officer Kaushalendra Singh expressed gratitude to all voters of Bhopal for their cooperation and participation, and appealed to unmapped voters or those whose names need updating in the SIR list to submit their claims promptly, ensuring the smooth and timely completion of the electoral process.
It was further stated that, in strict compliance with all directions of the Election Commission of India, the upcoming phases of the revision process will also be completed successfully within the prescribed timeline.
