CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Mental health camps are being organized until October 30 as part of Mental Health Month, offering screening, treatment, and counseling services for mental health-related issues. This year’s theme, “Promoting Mental Health in the Workplace,” focuses on the importance of mental health in work environments.
Camps are being held at district hospitals, civil hospitals, and community health centers. These camps provide screening for various mental health and addiction issues, as well as problems like stress and suicide, offering treatment and psychological counseling to those affected. Additionally, hospital staff have been educated on the importance of mental health in the workplace.
Mental health awareness programs are also being conducted in educational institutions throughout the district. In this context, a mental health awareness seminar was held at Kopal Public School in Neelbad, Bhopal, organized by Manaksh Bhopal. Around 250 high school and intermediate students, along with their teachers, participated in the seminar, where they discussed various aspects of school mental health and were introduced to the Tele-MANAS and Manhit apps.
Bhopal’s Chief Medical and Health Officer, Prabhakar Tiwari, mentioned that caregivers of people with mental health issues are also being oriented during the counseling camps. Under the Tele-MANAS program, free expert counseling is available via the mental health helpline numbers 14416 and 1800-89-14416.
