CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The grand inauguration of the three-day 14th Madhya Pradesh State-Level Stamp Exhibition “MEPEX 2025”, organized by the Madhya Pradesh Postal Circle, was held in Bhopal. This state-level philatelic exhibition, organized at Samanvay Bhawan, Bhopal, was inaugurated by Alok Sharma, Member of Parliament, Bhopal Parliamentary Constituency. The program was presided over by Vineet Mathur, Chief Postmaster General, MP Postal Circle.
Guests were welcomed by Pawan Kumar Dasmiya, Director Postal Services (Headquarters). Distinguished citizens, philatelists, officials, as well as teachers and students from various schools participated in the exhibition.

A total of 325 frames from 170 stamp collectors were displayed in a 1,000 sq. ft. area at Samanvay Bhawan. Through these frames, collectors showcased rare stamps and special covers on a wide range of themes including Indian Army, pre-Independence Bharat, Holkar Estate, Science in Space Exploration, Freedom Struggle from 1857 to 1947, Ramayana, Mahatma Gandhi, Bharat Ratna Awards, Swachh Bharat, MP Tourism, Indian Railways, along with many other subjects, in addition to scientific themes.
In his inaugural address, Chief Guest Alok Sharma said that this stamp exhibition, organized on the theme India’s Scientific Journey and Atmanirbhar Bharat, reflects the vast heritage of the country. He noted that the exhibition narrates the story of India’s progress over the last 78 years and serves as a bridge connecting the older generation with the younger one. On this occasion, he appreciated the artwork created by Mrs. Rekha Bhatnagar.

Earlier, in his presidential address, Vineet Mathur, Chief Postmaster General, MP Postal Circle, said that the exhibition would be highly informative for students coming from various schools. He added that the exhibition showcases developments from historical periods to modern technological advancements. He also informed that the first stamp of independent India was issued on 21 November 1947, titled “Jai Hind”. The exhibition also presents stamps reflecting the Prime Minister’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat 2047.
For students visiting the exhibition, a letter-writing competition was organized, and girl students presented captivating solo and group dance performances. Additionally, a group song performance by Umang Welfare Society, release of a special cover on social reformer Late Shankar Prasad Tamrakar, release of a book by Indore philatelist O. P. Kedia, and a workshop conducted by Sunil Sachdeva, AGM (Mail) were also held.
The exhibition witnessed the presence of Bhagwan Sabnani, Malti Rai, Mayor of Bhopal, Yogesh Tamrakar, Mayor of Satna, O.P.S. South-West MLA, and Justice Anil Verma of Gwalior High Court, among others.
