CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Minister of State for Backward Classes and Minority Welfare (Independent Charge) Krishna Gaur reviewed departmental schemes and development works at the ministry. Giving priority to students’ welfare, Minister of State Gaur directed that mess operations must begin from September 8 in the 106 hostels being run for backward class students. She made it clear that students living in the hostels must be provided nutritious and high-quality food on time, and that laxity at any level would not be accepted.
Foreign Study Scholarship Scheme: Portal to remain open throughout the year, interviews every quarter
Taking a major decision in the interest of meritorious students of the state who wish to go abroad for higher education, Minister of State Gaur directed that the portal for the “Foreign Study Scholarship Scheme” remain operational throughout the year. She said the portal should not be closed so that the application process remains easy and continuous. To speed up the selection process, she put in place a system under which the committee meeting should be held and candidates interviewed every three months, or as soon as at least 25 applications are received, so that eligible students can receive the benefit of the scheme on time.
Instructions issued to complete all departmental work within the deadline
Minister of State (Independent Charge) Gaur directed departmental officers to bring dynamism into the work culture and ensure that all government schemes are implemented within the prescribed time limit. She said it is essential that the real benefits of schemes reach the last eligible beneficiary transparently and swiftly. Secretary Anurag Chaudhary, Commissioner Satendra Singh, adviser R.K. Yadav and departmental officers were present at the meeting.
