CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress / ITDC News Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad organized a program under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan aimed at turning water conservation into a mass movement. The event included Jal Chaupal, river worship, shramdaan (voluntary labor), and the establishment of a Jal Mandir at Tarawali Mata Temple. A large number of public representatives, officials, and local citizens participated in the program.

The chief guest, Vice President of the Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Padma Shri Mohan Nagar, while addressing the Jal Chaupal, said that “water is life.” He emphasized that every individual must take a pledge to conserve water in their daily routine and highlighted the importance of community participation in protecting water sources. Expressing concern over the deteriorating condition of rivers, he stated that preserving and keeping rivers clean is the responsibility of all.

Executive Director of the Parishad, Bakul Laad, stated in his address that under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan initiative, water sources across the state are being revived. He appealed to the youth to actively participate in the campaign.

Religious and Social Participation

Mahant Gulab Giri Ji Maharaj of Tarawali Temple described water as divine and said that river conservation is part of both culture and religious duty.

After the program, Vice President Mohan Nagar inaugurated the Jal Mandir at Tarawali Mata Temple and participated in river worship and shramdaan on the Bahya River along with the Parishad network and villagers.

On this occasion, Divisional Coordinator Varun Acharya, District Coordinator Kokila Chaturvedi, Sarpanch Kuldeep Singh Jaat, Block Coordinator Tina Sharma, and Block Coordinator Nandkishore Malviya were prominently present.
