The international delegates attending the Global Investors Summit (GIS-2025) continue to explore the historic and cultural landmarks of Bhopal. As part of their itinerary, the Multipurpose Art Center, developed by the Tourism and Archaeology Department, has become a key attraction for visitors.

It is a moment of pride that Mexico’s Financial Advisor, along with the Ambassadors of Mali and Burkina Faso (West Africa), Mr. Félix Diallo and Director Désiré Boniface, visited the iconic Golghar. They were warmly welcomed by the district administration and the Tourism Council.

Golghar: A Historic Treasure

Golghar, also known as “Gulshan-e-Alam”, was originally built in 1868 by Nawab Shahjahan Begum. The structure, which once held historical significance, has now been transformed into a museum by the Archaeology Department.

Restoration & Cultural Revival

🏛️ The Tourism Department has undertaken the conservation and restoration of Golghar, ensuring its preservation as a cultural landmark.

🏛️ The Archaeology Department has redeveloped it as a Museum & Multipurpose Art Center, enhancing its cultural significance.

🏛️ The site has now been officially handed over to the District Tourism Council of Bhopal for management and operations.

With its deep historical roots and newly enhanced attractions, Golghar is fast becoming a must-visit destination for international guests and a symbol of Bhopal’s glorious past and cultural legacy.
