CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At the seminar hall of Babulal Gaur Government Postgraduate College, BHEL, Bhopal, the portrait of the institution’s first Principal, D. V. Jaiswal, was unveiled by Hon’ble Krishna Gaur, Minister in the Madhya Pradesh Government. On this occasion, Hon’ble Krishna Gaur said that establishing any institution involves numerous challenges. Under the capable leadership of D. V. Jaiswal, these challenges were met with wisdom and foresight, and as a result, the college has today emerged as a (renowned) institution.

During the program, Janbhagidari Committee Chairman Barelal Ahirwar, Principal Sanjay Jain, member Tej Singh Thakur, and the entire college family paid floral tributes as a mark of respect. It is noteworthy that, as per a decision taken in the Janbhagidari Committee meeting, an auditorium located in the newly constructed building has been named D. V. Jaiswal Auditorium, after the college’s first Principal. Hon’ble Minister Krishna Gaur highly appreciated this decision.

In 1984, D. V. Jaiswal was entrusted with a historic responsibility—the establishment and administration of Government BHEL College as its first Principal. This task was filled with challenges, but D. V. Jaiswal fulfilled this responsibility successfully with remarkable patience, leadership ability, and visionary thinking. The strong foundation he laid is the reason the college stands today as a reputed institution.

Even after his successful tenure at BHEL College, Dr. Jaiswal remained continuously associated with the state’s higher education system. He served in important positions such as Joint Director, Additional Director, Chairman of the Coordination Committee, and State UGC, making significant contributions to education policy, quality enhancement, and institutional development.

V. Jaiswal was a distinguished mathematician. His research on the Fibonacci series continues to be advanced by scholars at the global level. His academic contributions are timeless and will continue to inspire future generations. Many of his students today hold senior positions in the Higher Education Department of the Madhya Pradesh Government and also lead various important government and non-government institutions across the country. This stands as the greatest achievement of his role as a teacher.V. Jaiswal was a true humanist. His simplicity, humility, selfless service, and dedication to education made him an extraordinary personality. Through his life, he proved that education is not merely the transfer of knowledge, but the most powerful medium for building society and the nation. Though he may no longer be physically present among us, his thoughts, values, and works will live on forever. His contribution to the development of the education system in Madhya Pradesh is indelible and unforgettable. The entire college family will always remain grateful to its first Principal, D. V. Jaiswal.
