CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The popular crime franchise “Mirzapur” is set to move from OTT to the big screen. “Mirzapur: The Movie” will bring back several popular characters from the series for audiences once again. Ali Fazal will reprise his role as Guddu Pandit, while Pankaj Tripathi will return as Kaleen Bhaiya.
Guddu Pandit, played by Ali Fazal, has been one of the most important faces in the “Mirzapur” storyline. Initially seen as ambitious, Guddu gradually becomes a powerful player in the world of power, revenge and crime. His fight to capture the throne of Mirzapur has remained the central storyline of the franchise.
Pankaj Tripathi is also returning in the film as Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, popularly known as Kaleen Bhaiya. Kaleen Bhaiya’s influence in Mirzapur’s crime world and his rivalry with Guddu are among the key elements that drive the story forward.
Divyenndu is also returning as Munna Tripathi. In addition, Shweta Tripathi Sharma will appear as Golu Gupta, Rasika Dugal as Beena Tripathi and Shriya Pilgaonkar as Sweety Gupta. Several new faces have also been added to the film, which is expected to make the battle for power in Mirzapur even more interesting.
“Mirzapur: The Movie” is being directed by Gurmeet Singh. The film’s story will feature the return of old characters along with the entry of new players. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on September 4, 2026.
Through the film, the much-discussed world of Mirzapur will be presented on the big screen in a new style. The return of popular characters such as Guddu, Kaleen Bhaiya and Munna has further increased audience curiosity about the film.
