CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A one-day workshop was successfully organized on Friday by the Departments of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry at the Government Maharani Laxmibai Autonomous Postgraduate Girls’ College in the state capital.
Held under the guidance of Principal and Head of the Chemistry Department, Bharti Jain, the workshop aimed to raise awareness among students through scientific principles. It explained how certain fraudulent individuals misuse chemicals and basic scientific reactions to mislead innocent people in the name of religious faith and spread superstition.
On this occasion, in the presence of Assistant Professors Sanjay Kumar Singh, Shweta Hingwasia, Neeraj Mohan Gupta, and Rachna Shrivastava, the students demonstrated practical applications of chemistry. They presented live demonstrations of extracting essential oils and rose water, preparing vermilion (sindoor), and producing hydrogen gas for industrial use, such as filling balloons.
The demonstrations were widely appreciated and encouraged by those present.
