CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) Bengaluru has strengthened its quantum technology capabilities through an advanced India-Netherlands training programme for faculty members and students ahead of the launch of Quantum-Hub@MAHE (Q-Hub).
Four faculty members and seven students from the Bengaluru and Manipal campuses completed the specialised programme, gaining practical exposure to quantum computing hardware, control systems and engineering infrastructure. The Q-Hub laboratory is scheduled to be inaugurated on October 13, 2026, at the MAHE Bengaluru campus.
The training was conducted in two phases. The first phase at MIT Bengaluru covered quantum control systems, vacuum technologies, practical vacuum assembly and foundational quantum engineering. The second phase took place at QuantrolOx and QuTech at TU Delft in the Netherlands, where participants received advanced training from quantum technology experts.
Participants gained hands-on experience in microwave technologies, RF electronics, gas handling systems, dilution refrigerator assembly, cryocooling, superconducting quantum processing unit assembly, signal measurement and analysis, as well as QuantumEDGE software and QBlox modules.
According to MIT Bengaluru, the trained faculty will support teaching, mentoring and research, while students will contribute to laboratory instruction and research projects. The Q-Hub is planned as an integrated platform for quantum education, research, innovation and industry collaboration.
The initiative is intended to build specialised talent and strengthen practical capabilities in quantum engineering as India develops its emerging quantum technology ecosystem.
