CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: At Karuna Buddha Vihar, Tulsi Nagar, the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was celebrated with great enthusiasm under the aegis of The Buddhist Society of India. The chief guest at the event was BJP State General Secretary and MLA Bhagwandas Sabanani, who attended the program as a special guest.
Professor Ratan Lal from Delhi University, founder and editor-in-chief of Ambedkar Nama, addressed the gathering and stated,
“We have yet to truly understand the ideas of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. We need to improve our grasp of his core principle—education. Babasaheb’s dream was that every individual in society should be educated.”
Dr. Rajendra Verma said,
“What Dr. Ambedkar gave us, we are failing to preserve. In fact, we are losing it—and this should be taken as a wake-up call.”
As the main guest, Mr. Sabanani first offered floral tributes at the statues of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Lord Gautam Buddha, and then laid the foundation stone of the Vipassana Hall, which will be constructed on the first floor. The construction amount for the hall has been approved from Mr. Sabanani’s MLA fund.
While addressing the ceremony, Mr. Sabanani said,
“From the President of India to the lowest public office bearer, everyone has to take an oath on the Constitution. This shows how sacred and great the Constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar is. Once again, I extend my best wishes to all of you on this auspicious occasion.”
On this occasion, several dignitaries including Dr. Chandrabodhi Patil (Chairman Trustee, The Buddhist Society of India), social worker Dr. Mohanlal Patil, Shankarrao Dhengre, Dhammaratna Somkunwar, B.T. Gajbhiye, and other committee members were present.
