CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Bhopal: MLA Trophy 2026 was grandly inaugurated in the Assembly constituency on Monday with fireworks and colourful programmes. Karunadham Ashram Peethadheeshwar Sudesh Shandilya Maharaj, MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani and district president Ravindra Yati were present on the occasion.
Welcoming all players and spectators, MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani said sports are an essential part of life and a player’s discipline is his identity. Only a disciplined player achieves success, he said, adding that sports help develop discipline, mental growth, character building and leadership ability in life.
He said there is no shortage of talent in the South-West Assembly constituency. “Our area is the heart of the city and people with talent from every section live here. My effort is that every talent in our area gets respect and brings glory to the state and the country through their ability. I extend my best wishes to all of you,” he said.
Sabnani said he too had been a player and was well acquainted with the spirit of sports and sportspersons. “The purpose of sports is not merely the result of defeat or victory, but to learn struggle on the field, discipline, team spirit and human values,” he said.
A tennis-ball night cricket tournament is being organised till June 9 at Nehru Nagar Police Ground by Navprayas Sanskritik Evam Samajik Vikas Samiti. A total of 32 teams are participating in the tournament, and the final will be played on June 9 after the knockout matches.
Along with the inauguration, a show match between doctors and journalists was also held, in which the enthusiasm of players from both teams was worth watching. Three to four matches of eight overs each will be played every day.
A large number of people from the South-West Assembly constituency were present at the inauguration and encouraged the players.
