CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department’s initiative for state-level academic and cultural activities on Indian Knowledge Tradition, a folk song competition celebrating Indian culture was organized at Government Maharani Laxmibai Girls’ Postgraduate Autonomous College.

The program’s chief guest was Bhartiya Janata Party State General Secretary and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, accompanied by special guest Mukesh Kumar Mishra, Director of Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute, Bhopal, and Dhirendra Shukla, State Coordinator, Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell. Mathura Prasad, Additional Director, Higher Education Department, Narmadapuram Division, was also present.

The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer to Goddess Saraswati. All dignitaries were welcomed with a coconut, memento, and a tulsi plant.

Chief guest Bhagwandas Sabnani highlighted the significance of India’s ancient knowledge traditions, stating that the Indian education system is among the oldest in the world, embodying a rich heritage that has been preserved for thousands of years. It is based on the principles of freedom, equality, fraternity, and world peace. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s New Education Policy integrates these elements, further strengthening the tradition and making it accessible to students. Sabnani also emphasized the importance of folk songs in connecting people to religion and traditions, appreciating their simplicity, sweetness, and popularity in local languages.

The college principal, Ajay Agrawal, extended gratitude to all the guests.
