CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Two science exhibition buses were flagged off from the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal, a unit of the National Council of Science Museums, under its travelling mobile science exhibition programme aimed at popularising science and spreading a scientific outlook. The buses have been sent to Agar Malwa and Harda districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The buses were flagged off by Dr. Satanand Mishra, senior scientist at the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute, Bhopal (CSIR – AMPRI), and a member of the Local Advisory Committee of the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal.

The travelling science exhibition programme is being run especially to take science to students of remote and rural schools in Madhya Pradesh in a simple, engaging and experiential form. The initiative is particularly useful for schools whose students find it difficult to visit the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal.

The travelling science exhibition is essentially based on the concept of a “science exhibition on wheels”. Interactive and attractive exhibits, scientific models and science activities based on various subjects of science and technology have been installed in specially designed buses. These buses visit schools in different districts and provide students an opportunity to understand scientific principles through direct experience.
