CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A mock drill on chemical industrial disaster will be organized in front of the Central Power Research Institute under the joint aegis of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), and District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of the Government of India. The purpose of this drill is to assess disaster preparedness and raise public awareness.
Deputy Collector and Nodal Officer Director Lakhan Singh Chaudhary informed that mock drills focusing on chemical industrial disasters will be conducted in 10 districts of the state, including Bhopal. In this context, it is essential to provide advance information to the general public to spread awareness and avoid any panic. This is purely a training exercise, and there is no reason for citizens to be alarmed.
The District Disaster Management Authority has appealed to the general public to remain calm during the exercise, avoid panic, follow administrative instructions in the mock drill area, stay away from rumors, and provide accurate information to others. In case of any inconvenience, citizens are advised to immediately contact the nearest administrative officials.
