New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday offered prayers at Shri Vinayak Temple in Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar on the occasion of completing 25 years as head of government. He prayed to Lord Ganesh for the happiness, prosperity and good health of the people of the country. The Prime Minister said that with the blessings of Vighnaharta, the country should continue to move ahead on the path of progress.
Prime Minister Modi took charge as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001. He later assumed office as Prime Minister in 2014 and has completed three consecutive terms. In this way, as Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister of the country, he has completed 25 years as head of government.
On this occasion, the Bharatiya Janata Party is organising various programmes across the country under its ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. The campaign lays emphasis on service, public participation and social activities. Special programmes are also being organised in Delhi to mark the Prime Minister’s 25 years in public life.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha – Seva Jyoti Yatra’ programme in Delhi today. During the event, he is expected to interact with workers and participants associated with the Seva Yatra. Party workers and supporters across the country are also organising various programmes to mark the Prime Minister’s 25 years in public life.
