CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump spoke by phone on September 30, 2026. The two leaders discussed various issues related to India-US relations and bilateral cooperation.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the conversation reviewed progress in cooperation in trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and other areas of mutual interest. The two leaders reiterated their commitment to advancing the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and agreed to remain in close contact to deepen cooperation.
During the conversation, they also exchanged views on regional and international developments. The two leaders discussed efforts to promote global peace and security and agreed to stay in touch.
The conversation took place at a time when discussions are continuing between India and the United States on trade talks, US tariff measures linked to Russian oil imports and other issues. According to the report, Prime Minister Modi and Trump had met in France in June.
