Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav engaged with traders and the general public at the “GST Savings Celebration” held at Chowk Bazaar to highlight the recent GST rate reductions. He stated that the dream of a self-reliant and developed India will soon be realized, and every citizen must contribute to this goal. The Chief Minister described the new GST reforms implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a Diwali gift for the nation.

During the program, Dr. Yadav walked through the market, affixing GST Savings Celebration stickers on shops and interacting warmly with traders and customers. He explained that the new GST rates will directly benefit both the public and traders: essentials now have 0% GST, agricultural and other necessary items are taxed at 5%, and luxury goods carry 18% GST.

Dr. Yadav also urged traders to adopt indigenous products, emphasizing that this would pave the way for a self-reliant India. He visited major establishments in Chowk Bazaar, including Vijayvargiya Jewellers, Janaki Saree House, Satyam Fabrics, and promoted online digital payments.

The program was attended by Bhopal MP Alok Sharma, Southwest MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor Malti Rai, social workers, and representatives of various trade and social organizations. The Chief Minister also visited the Curfewwali Mata Temple to perform a ghat installation and Kanya Puja and receive blessings.

On this occasion, he encouraged all traders and citizens to spread awareness about the benefits of the GST reduction and actively promote public understanding of the new rates.
