CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: South cinema veteran Mohanlal has praised Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s film ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’. After watching the film, Mohanlal said he was truly impressed by the way the story had been brought to its conclusion. His response has brought appreciation for the film’s team. The film is also performing strongly at the box office, having earned Rs 489.74 crore worldwide.

In a video message shared by the makers, Mohanlal said he had watched ‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ and was highly impressed by the way the popular story had been given a fitting end. He congratulated director Abhishek Pathak, producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajay Devgn, and the entire star cast and team of the film.

Mohanlal’s reaction is significant because he played the widely acclaimed character Georgekutty in the original Malayalam ‘Drishyam’ franchise. In the Hindi version, Ajay Devgn has brought the same story world to audiences through the character of Vijay Salgaonkar.

‘Drishyam: The Conclusion’ was released in theatres on October 2, 2026. In 11 days of release, the film’s worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 489.74 crore. In India, the film’s gross collection is reported at Rs 378.24 crore, while its domestic net collection has reached Rs 315.25 crore. From overseas markets, the film has recorded gross business of Rs 111.50 crore.

However, on its second Monday, October 12, the film saw a decline in daily earnings. On that day, it earned around Rs 6.25 crore net in India, compared with Rs 22.50 crore on the previous Sunday. Despite this, the film’s total business has moved close to the Rs 500-crore worldwide mark.

Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also features Tabu, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj and Ishita Dutta in key roles alongside Ajay Devgn. The film takes forward the story of the Hindi ‘Drishyam’ franchise, but its plot moves in a different direction from the third film in the Malayalam version. Mohanlal’s praise and the box-office figures have further increased audience interest in the film. It now remains to be seen when the film crosses the Rs 500-crore global mark in the coming days.
