CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: “To provide each beneficiary with the necessary health services, the health department is continuously implementing innovations. Through these innovations, more than 28,000 citizens have benefited from various health services in 210 special camps over the past 15 days. The camps also aimed to raise awareness about health among citizens so that they can prevent diseases and recognize symptoms early for timely treatment.

The camps were organized at convenient times and locations for the beneficiaries. Health department doctors, paramedics, managerial, and support staff provided their services in these camps outside of regular office hours.

The camps offered services such as screening for non-communicable diseases, eye examinations, adult BCG vaccinations, Ayushman cards, and ABHA cards. Additionally, there were screenings for malaria, tuberculosis, and leprosy, along with awareness activities for these diseases. These camps were held in labor markets, night shelters, and grain markets.

Chief Medical and Health Officer Bhopal, Prabhakar Tiwari, mentioned that people from the poor and marginalized sections of society often delay or do not access health services due to their busy work schedules or lack of time. Considering the health needs of such people, special camps have been continuously organized in various locations in Bhopal for the past 15 days.

These camps were set up near the working and residential areas of the citizens. The timing of these camps was also chosen to suit the beneficiaries’ convenience. Health institutions operate from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. These special camps were held before 9:00 AM and after 6:00 PM so that people could access health services before going to work or after returning from work. Patients identified in these camps are receiving treatment at nearby health institutions. Follow-ups for patients with long-term and serious illnesses are being conducted by ASHA workers.

Recently, an ideal vaccination center has been started at the district vaccine center, considering the convenience of parents for vaccination. Vaccinations are conducted here daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, and even on holidays from 10 AM to 2 PM, so that officers and employees working in offices can get their children vaccinated.

Eye disease screening has been conducted for 438 people in the camps, with 270 people identified with refractive errors and provided with free glasses. Cataracts were found in 31 people, and they are being scheduled for surgery.
