CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A moving car turned into a ball of fire in Barabanki late on Friday night in a tragic incident reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district.
Near the Saidanpur canal close to Haminpur village under the Safdarganj police station area, a Tata Tiago CNG car suddenly caught fire while it was moving. The driver, Pradeep Kumar, was burnt to death in the accident. The blaze was so intense that the car was completely gutted.
According to preliminary information, Pradeep Kumar was returning after dropping passengers at Lucknow airport when the car caught fire. It is being reported that the car doors got locked, due to which the driver could not get out. After the fire was extinguished, the driver’s charred remains were found inside the vehicle.
On Saturday morning, passersby saw the burnt car and informed the police about the incident. The deceased was identified on the basis of the vehicle’s registration number. Police reached the spot and began an investigation.
Initial information has not established the exact cause of the fire. Officials are investigating the matter.
The incident has once again raised safety questions related to fires in moving cars and doors failing to open in emergency situations. However, the cause of the fire and the actual circumstances in which the doors were locked will become clear only after the investigation.
