CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: MP to Transfer ₹25,000 Laptop Aid to 1.22 Lakh Meritorious Students Today

There is major good news for nearly 1.22 lakh meritorious students of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will today, September 1, transfer ₹25,000 per student as laptop incentive assistance directly into their bank accounts. The amount is being provided under the Pratibhashali Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana.

The scheme will benefit students who passed the Madhya Pradesh Board Class 12 examination in their first attempt with at least 75 per cent marks. Eligible students are given financial assistance of ₹25,000 to purchase a laptop. The government does not provide any fixed laptop to students; instead, the amount is sent directly to their bank accounts so they can buy a device according to their needs.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will transfer the amount through a single click during a programme at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal. This time, around ₹304.98 crore will be transferred into students’ accounts.

The government’s objective is to provide meritorious students with the digital resources needed for higher education. Through laptops, students will be able to access online study material, e-learning platforms, digital courses and other educational resources.

The scheme was launched in 2009-10 and aims to encourage academically outstanding students while connecting them with modern technology. So far, lakhs of students have received assistance under the scheme.
