CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: A meeting of the Madhya Pradesh State Medicinal Plant Board was held in the chamber at the Secretariat to discuss various points in detail. The progress of ongoing projects and the upcoming action plan under the Board were thoroughly reviewed.
Under the Devaaranya Yojana 2.0, the implementation of the “One District-One Medicinal Product” scheme will initially cover five districts in the state. Detailed action plans and directives for execution were issued. Additionally, a directive was given to prepare a medicinal map of the state and include all medicinal crops, similar to other agricultural crops, in the crop survey (Girdawari).
To determine the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for medicinal plants, the Board instructed the coordination of the Forest Department, MGNREGA, Agriculture, and Horticulture Departments to develop a comprehensive action plan.
Under the “Dharti Aaba Abhiyan”, the development of nutrition gardens and medicinal gardens in residential schools was emphasized. Directions were also issued to implement the creation of Herbal Gardens in AYUSH colleges operated under the AYUSH Department.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Forests, Ashok Varnwal, Principal Secretary of AYUSH, D.P. Ahuja, AYUSH Commissioner Uma R. Maheshwari, and Additional Secretary of AYUSH and Board CEO Sanjay Kumar Mishra, along with various other officials.
