CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis (AIGGPA), Government of Madhya Pradesh, organized the 3rd Madhya Pradesh PhD Colloquium in Bhopal. PhD scholars from various universities, colleges, academic institutions, and research centers across the state participated in the event, presenting their research project proposals (synopsis) to renowned national experts.

Research scholars from the Department of Biosciences (Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Genomics) at Barkatullah University, under the guidance of Director Rajkumar Garg and Associate Professor & Head of the Department, also participated in the one-day PhD colloquium. They presented their research and won accolades for their outstanding work.

Ms. Neelima Uikey presented her research on “Development of DNA Barcoding of Fishes of Upper Lake Bhopal” under the theme of Natural Resources Management and Sustainability, earning the First Prize. In the same theme, Gayatri Batham presented her research on “Genetic Stock Studies on Ompok Bimaculatus Fish of Five Rivers of Madhya Pradesh” and won the Second Prize.

Director Nikisha Mahovia of the Biosciences Department also participated in the Biodiversity and Traditional Knowledge theme and presented her PhD research on “Development of DNA-Based Species-Specific SCAR Markers for Chitala Chitala”, winning the Second Prize.

Barkatullah University Vice-Chancellor S.K. Jain congratulated all the award-winning students and encouraged them to pursue further achievements. He emphasized that the university would ensure that no resource limitations hinder research and developmental activities.

AIGGPA, a premier state-level institution under the Government of Madhya Pradesh, focuses on policymaking and implementation. The one-day colloquium provided an opportunity for scholars to present and discuss their research, which will contribute to developing research-based policies and their implementation for the state’s growth and development.
