CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Students of the B.Sc. Agriculture program at the Department of Agriculture, Madhyanchal Professional University, closely observed the process of converting waste into compost, while also learning an important lesson in environmental conservation. They actively participated in the cleaning and maintenance of the university’s vermicompost unit, taking a significant step toward practical agricultural education.

This exercise was conducted with the aim of understanding sustainable and organic farming practices, which are essential today for maintaining environmental balance and soil fertility.

During the activity, students not only studied the structure and functioning of the vermicompost unit but also engaged in hands-on cleaning themselves. They observed how earthworms gradually decompose organic waste and transform it into high-quality compost, which is then used to nourish crops. This process involves no chemicals, making it completely natural and environmentally friendly.

Madhyanchal Professional University’s initiative goes beyond mere classroom learning, connecting students with practical and ethical responsibilities in the field. The university aims to encourage students to integrate innovation, environmental protection, and sustainable development into their education.
