CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Dharmendra Maran, Sarpanch of Mugaliya Hat Gram Panchayat in Bhopal district, has been honored with the “Excellence in Water Leadership” Sarpanch Award. This recognition was given to him for his outstanding work in the successful operation and maintenance of the tap water scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

The award was presented by Hon’ble Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C. R. Patil, who appreciated Dharmendra Maran’s efforts in ensuring the effective implementation, smooth operation, and public participation in the tap water scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the village. He was also presented with a certificate of appreciation during the program.

The ceremony was attended by Hon’ble C. R. Patil, Minister of Jal Shakti, Government of India; V. Somnath, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti & Ministry of Railways; Raj Bhushan Choudhary, Minister of State, Ministry of Jal Shakti; and Ashok K. K. Meena, Secretary, Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India.

During the event, representatives from states were honored for their exemplary work under the Jal Jeevan Mission, including outstanding public representatives and members of women’s self-help groups, based on selection criteria across various categories.

This achievement is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal district, and the residents of Mugaliya Hat Gram Panchayat. Dharmendra Maran’s recognition will also serve as an inspiring example for other gram panchayats in the state.
