CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a powerful solo theatrical performance, “A Mulakat Shakuntala Se”, was presented under the joint auspices of Bhabha University, Bhopal, and the Aahan Education, Culture, and Social Welfare Committee. The special performance was organized on the Bhabha University campus, drawing a remarkable audience of students, teachers, and art and literature enthusiasts.

The play was staged under the creative guidance of renowned theater actor, writer, and director Alok Chatterjee, along with eminent theater artist and director Shobha Chatterjee. In this solo performance, artist Aarti Vishwakarma captivated the audience with her strong and sensitive acting skills.

“A Mulakat Shakuntala Se” is not just a dramatization of a mythological story; it is a presentation of the deep emotions and psyche of a woman, portraying how a woman perceives and understands her life, social structure, and societal viewpoints. In this performance, Shakuntala is presented as a female character who stands firmly before society, asserting her existence, self-respect, and emotions.

Through the performance, themes of women’s self-respect, sensitivity, and social identity were effectively conveyed, leaving a profound impact on the audience. After the staging, the attendees appreciated the actor’s performance and the creative direction of the production.
