CNN Central News & Network-ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Mumbai. Toll charges have been increased for some commercial vehicles entering and exiting Mumbai. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation has implemented new rates on five major entry routes from October 1, 2026. The change will affect buses, trucks, light commercial vehicles and heavy motor vehicles.
Under the new rates, the toll for mini buses and light commercial vehicles has been increased from Rs 75 to Rs 90. For buses and trucks, the charge has gone up from Rs 150 to Rs 180. For heavy motor vehicles, the toll has been raised from Rs 190 to Rs 225. This means an increase of Rs 15 to Rs 35 per trip, depending on the type of vehicle.
The new rates apply at the entry points of Vashi, Airoli, Mulund LBS, Mulund Eastern Expressway and Dahisar. Regular commercial vehicle operators also have the option of discounts on advance toll coupons.
However, private car and SUV drivers have been spared from this hike. The new increased rates also do not apply to auto-rickshaws, taxis and some vehicles linked to public transport. Commercial vehicle operators say the higher toll may increase their operating costs and could affect freight transport costs.
