The incident occurred on Tuesday morning around 9:10 AM when the woman was returning from her yoga class.
According to reports, the elderly woman reached near the government Sahyadri Guest House. A BEST bus heading towards Kamla Nehru Park approached the spot. In an unfortunate sequence, the bus came too close to a parked car near which the woman was standing, causing her to get trapped between the car and the bus. She succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
The BEST bus driver has been taken into custody by the Mumbai Police, and a detailed investigation into the incident is underway. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to understand the exact circumstances that led to this unfortunate accident.
