CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal : The 82nd biannual meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Banks), Bhopal was organized with the support of Central Bank of India. The meeting was held under the chief guestship of Narendra Singh Mehra, Deputy Director of the Department of Official Language, Regional Implementation Office (Central), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The session was chaired by Dheeraj Goyal, General Manager, Central Bank of India.
Distinguished guests present at the meeting included Rekha Chandanveli, Regional Director of the Reserve Bank of India; Shyama Sikdar, Regional Manager, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC); and C. Saraswati, General Manager, NABARD. The event was conducted by Rajeev Tiwari, Member Secretary of the Committee and Chief Manager of Central Bank of India.
Tiwari informed that this meeting was special as it also marked the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Official Language Department of the Government of India. To commemorate this historic occasion, a motivational Hindi publication titled “Pradakshina” was launched, dedicated to the great personalities who contributed to Constitution-making and the promotion of Hindi.
During the meeting, changes in leadership at various member offices were announced, and newly appointed officers were welcomed with hopes that they would bring new direction to the committee’s goals.
In his address, General Manager Goyal emphasized that Hindi is not just a language but a symbol of cultural identity and national unity. He congratulated member banks and insurance companies for their excellent work in Hindi and called it a source of inspiration.
Chief Guest Mehra urged all offices to achieve 100% usage of Hindi, and shared that the Town OLIC (Banks), Bhopal, was awarded the Rajbhasha Samman for excellent implementation of the official language in 2023–24. The award was presented at the All India Official Language Conference held on 17 February 2025.
A total of 48 employees from 16 banks and 6 insurance companies, along with 27 winners of Hindi competitions, were honored for their outstanding contributions in Hindi. Additionally, offices that performed well in the 2024–25 Rajbhasha Shield Competition were awarded:

On this occasion, NABARD Bhopal was also presented with a Special Official Language Award for its distinguished contribution to Hindi implementation.
