CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The grand finale of the two-day National Automobile Olympiad (NAO), organized jointly by the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and CBSE, was inaugurated at Scope Global Skills University. The event featured competitions such as Robotex, AR-VR-based welding simulation, and presentations on automobile-related topics. Around 74 students from grades 6 to 12 showcased their talent. These students were selected after school-level, district-level, and state-level competitions and are now competing at the national level in the final round.
The Robotex competition began with Robotex training, where students were given detailed instructions on robot assembly. They were then assigned tasks to assemble robots, demonstrating time management and efficiency. In the welding simulation category, students were introduced to advancements in welding technology. AR-VR-based welding simulations were demonstrated, followed by performance evaluations on various parameters after training.
Under the presentations segment, students from grades 6 to 8 presented on “Ideas for Green Mobility – Challenges and Ideas,” grades 9 and 10 addressed “Automobile Design for the Future,” and grades 11 and 12 explored “Impact of Software-Defined Vehicles on Society,” offering unique solutions and ideas.
During the inauguration, ASDC CEO Arindam Lahiri addressed the participants, emphasizing that such initiatives will prepare the next generation of automotive professionals. He highlighted ASDC’s commitment to fostering creativity, excellence, and engagement with the automotive industry through skill training, ensuring students are industry-ready.
Scope Global Skills University Chancellor Siddharth Chaturvedi praised the National Automobile Olympiad as a unique event that promotes skill development creatively and raises awareness about new career opportunities.
Vice-Chancellor Ajay Bhushan shared his thoughts on the Olympiad’s significance, stating that the National Automobile Olympiad is not just a competition but a learning experience for participants. It fosters innovation, enhances problem-solving skills, and connects young talent with the future needs of India’s automotive sector. Initiatives like this contribute to building a skilled workforce, driving growth in the industry.
