CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Department of Ophthalmology at AIIMS Bhopal organized a National Continuing Medical Education (CME) program as part of the National Eye Donation Fortnight. The program was inaugurated by AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Madhavanand Kar. Distinguished guests Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Dr. Nichlani, and Dr. Lalit Srivastava were also present on the occasion.
During the CME, renowned experts shared their knowledge and experiences. Dr. Chindan Malhotra (PGI Chandigarh) primarily discussed penetrating keratoplasty, transplantation, and cross-linking. Dr. Neha Chaturvedi gave a presentation on steroid-induced glaucoma, while Prerna Upadhyay spoke on the management of chemical burns and ocular trauma. These sessions enriched the participants with the latest insights into ophthalmology and vision restoration.
Postgraduate students, interns, and faculty members actively participated in the event, making it highly interactive and intellectually stimulating. A quiz competition was also organized at the end of the program, with exciting prizes awarded to the winners.
This National CME not only served as a platform for scientific discussion but also became a significant initiative to spread awareness about the importance of eye donation. By encouraging more people to pledge their eyes, the event further strengthened AIIMS Bhopal’s commitment to health education and public health empowerment.
