CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal / Sehore: A one-day national conference on the theme “No Health Without Mental Health” was organized at the National Institute of Mental Health Rehabilitation (NIMHR), Sehore. The conference was attended by around 250 rehabilitation professionals, experts, and students from across the country. The purpose of the conference was to deliberate on the importance of mental health rehabilitation and its role in overall health. The event was inaugurated by Tej Bahadur Singh, Chairman of the Governing Council of the institute, along with Executive Members Sanjay Sharma and Dr. Arjun Singh. The inaugural session was also attended by Dr. Vijendra Singh, Head of the Department of Psychiatry at AIIMS Bhopal, experts from BMHRC Bhopal, and other senior medical professionals.

Several important sessions were held during the conference. The first session focused on the concept and challenges of mental rehabilitation. The second session provided detailed insights into suicide prevention and crisis management. The third and fourth sessions highlighted mental health in the workplace and its impact. The fifth session discussed suicide prevention in the education system, while the sixth session explored digital solutions and innovations in mental health rehabilitation. During the program, the institute also launched its first newsletter, “Unmesh.” On this occasion, Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, IAS, and Joint Secretary Rajiv Sharma, IFS, addressed the participants and provided guidance.

The conference concluded with a quiz competition, and certificates were distributed to all participants. In his closing address, the Director of the institute, Akhilesh Kumar Shukla, emphasized the need to make mental health rehabilitation a social priority.
