A historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) and the Nagaland Police, aimed at enhancing smart policing in Northeast India through advanced training, research, and innovation. The MoU was officially signed online earlier this week.

As part of the agreement, RRU will offer customized training programs to the Nagaland Police, focusing on key areas such as criminal investigation, cybersecurity, and community policing. In addition, both institutions will collaborate on joint research projects and focus on developing technology-driven solutions for law enforcement.

The virtual signing ceremony was attended by RRU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bimal N. Patel, Nagaland Director General of Police (DGP) Rupin Sharma, and other senior officials from both organizations.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Patel emphasized that the partnership is designed to empower police personnel in the Northeast by strengthening their capabilities in fields such as information technology, forensics, law, and regional languages, considering the unique security challenges of the region.

DGP Rupin Sharma welcomed the collaboration, stating that it would modernize the capabilities of the Nagaland Police and make policing more efficient, data-driven, and smart.

This partnership is seen as a significant step not only toward strengthening the security landscape in Northeast India, but also toward advancing modern law enforcement practices through technology and innovation.
