CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: National Dengue Day was celebrated at AIIMS Bhopal. This year’s theme is “Dengue Prevention – Our Responsibility for a Safe Tomorrow.” On this occasion, AIIMS Bhopal’s Executive Director, Ajay Singh, emphasized that dengue is a mosquito-borne disease, and we must take measures to prevent mosquito breeding. This includes maintaining cleanliness around us, avoiding dirt, and preventing water from accumulating. By adopting cleanliness, we can not only protect ourselves from diseases like dengue but also create a healthy environment and ensure a safe future for the coming generations.

In line with this, a workshop was organized at the Municipal Corporation Auditorium in Bhopal. Senior Medical Officer of the AYUSH Department at AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Danish Javed, raised awareness about the spread of vector-borne diseases and the role of Ayurveda in their control. Dr. Danish discussed the control of decreasing platelets in the blood through various herbs described in Ayurveda. He mentioned that to effectively combat this disease, a combination of Ayurvedic and Allopathic medicines can be used. Additionally, Dr. Anantam Krishnan from the Community and Family Medicine Department of AIIMS Bhopal shared important information about the symptoms, severity, and prevention of dengue. About 70 representatives from various hospitals, along with representatives from the Bhopal Municipal Corporation office, participated in this program.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne disease spread by the bite of Aedes mosquitoes. Dengue can affect people of any age and leads to a continuous decrease in platelets. Major symptoms of dengue include fever, headache, body aches, and vomiting. If such symptoms appear, one should immediately contact the nearest hospital.
