CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On National Deworming Day, children aged 1 to 19 years will be administered the deworming Albendazole tablet. This tablet will be provided at government schools, private schools, and Anganwadi centers. The tablet protects children from intestinal worm infections. In Bhopal, approximately 950,000 children will be given this tablet.
The Health Department has supplied the Albendazole medicine to schools and Anganwadi centers. In schools, the tablet will be administered in the presence of a nodal teacher. Nodal teachers have been trained on how to administer the tablet and the benefits associated with it. Various government departments, as well as social influencers, have been involved in the program to help combat anemia and create a positive environment in society.
Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Chief Medical and Health Officer of Bhopal, stated that one of the major causes of nutritional anemia is the presence of worms in the stomach. Administering deworming medicine can prevent diseases caused by worms. Anemia negatively impacts children’s intellectual, academic, and physical development. This tablet is completely safe.
