CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: On the occasion of National Farmers’ Day, the Agricultural Research Centre, Faculty of Agriculture, Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, organized a grand Farmers’ Conference. The program commenced with a ceremonial worship of Goddess Saraswati. Distinguished guests, subject experts, faculty members, students, and farmers from surrounding villages participated in the event with great enthusiasm.
At the beginning of the program, Prof. H.D. Verma, Head of the Faculty of Agriculture, welcomed all guests and participants. He highlighted the importance of modern agricultural techniques for students and farmers, discussed the history of National Farmers’ Day, and recalled the contributions of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh to nation-building.
Dr. Rishikesh Mandloi, Program Coordinator, briefed the farmers on the balanced use of nutrients, fertilizers, and agrochemicals to improve soil health and enhance crop productivity.

The Chief Guest, Prof. Ravi Prakash Dubey, Vice-Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal, emphasized that agriculture is the foundation of human life, with nearly 70% of the country’s population dependent on farming. He stressed the importance of food security, current agricultural challenges, and the adoption of advanced and integrated farming techniques.
During the technical sessions:
Sunil Kumar Sone, Assistant Director of Agriculture (Raisen), presented information on the Soil Health Card Scheme, Natural Farming Projects, and techniques like Jeevamrit and Beejamrit.
- Onkar, Deputy Director of Agriculture (CAET, Bhopal), highlighted the PM & CM Samriddhi Scheme, organic and natural farming, crop residue management, and drone technology.
Dr. Neeraj Singh Parihar, Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, shared insights on increasing milk production, artificial insemination, vaccination, and animal health programs.
The event provided a platform for knowledge-sharing between experts and farmers, fostering awareness of modern agricultural practices and sustainable farming techniques.
