CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: In celebration of the 100th year of the Tansen Festival, a two-day National Music Seminar was inaugurated under the joint collaboration of Rabindranath Tagore University (RNTU), Scope Global Skills University, and Raja Mansingh Tomar University, Gwalior.
The seminar, themed “Innovation Possibilities in Music under NEP 2020 and Indian Knowledge Tradition”, began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a Saraswati Vandana and Manglacharan performance. The event’s chief guests were Pooja Anil, founder of the Hindi Gurukul in Spain, and Smita Sahastrabuddhe, Vice-Chancellor of Raja Mansingh Tomar University. Pro-Chancellor Aditi Chaturvedi Vats presided over the program, while Sangeeta Johri, Pro Vice-Chancellor of RNTU, introduced the seminar’s objectives.
Collaboration for Innovation in Music and NEP 2020
Vice-Chancellor Smita Sahastrabuddhe highlighted the collaboration between RNTU and Raja Mansingh Tomar University under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. She noted that students from other disciplines are increasingly interested in studying music and culture, as music and performing arts bring peace and joy. NEP 2020 offers students the opportunity to integrate music with other subjects.
Innovation Pathways Open Under NEP
Pro-Chancellor Aditi Chaturvedi Vats emphasized the numerous avenues for innovation under NEP 2020. She remarked that researchers at the conference brought innovative ideas, which will be explored further through this seminar.
Dedication to Work and Discipline – Pooja Anil
Pooja Anil, founder of the Hindi Gurukul in Spain, drew from the dialogue between Shabari and Lord Ram in the Valmiki Ramayana to inspire students toward innovation. She emphasized that dedication is the foundation of innovation and urged both students and teachers to remain committed to their work and discipline to achieve any goal.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signed
The event concluded with the signing of an MoU between Scope Skills University and Raja Mansingh Tomar Music University to foster collaborative efforts in music education.
The program was moderated by Vishakha Rajurkar. Key attendees included Ruchi Mishra Tiwari (Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Liberal Arts), Harsha Sharma (Head of Department), Shailendra Singh (Associate Professor), Manoj Nair (Director, Tagore Theatre School), Chaitanya Athale (Assistant Professor), and Jawahar Karnawat (Director, NRI Center).
