CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Professor (Dr.) Ajay Singh, the Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine at AIIMS Bhopal hosted the final round of the IAPM National Pathology Quiz 2024. This event served as a platform to bring together talented medical students from across the country and encourage their knowledge and spirit of innovation. The quiz is a major initiative of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM). The online screening round was held on November 20, 2023, with 12 teams from across the country participating. After fierce competition, the top five teams from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Odisha, Jammu & Kashmir, and Madhya Pradesh were selected for the final round.

In the final round, AIIMS Bhopal’s Ms. Jhalak Shah and Mr. Tejas Mohale, representing Madhya Pradesh, were declared winners. Ms. Diya Tiku and Mr. Kartik Bhat from Jammu & Kashmir were the first runners-up, while Ms. Narttara and Ms. Anju from Kerala secured the second runners-up position. The top three teams have been invited to participate in the National Pathology Conference APCON 2024 (December 13-15, 2024, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar).

On this occasion, Prof. Singh praised the Pathology and Lab Medicine Department for successfully organizing the quiz and said, “The IAPM National Pathology Quiz is a symbol of academic excellence and the spirit of collaboration in our country. Such events not only enhance the intellectual capacity of young minds but also promote a culture of teamwork and innovation.”

The program coordinator and head of the Pathology and Lab Medicine Department at AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. Vaishali Walke, congratulated the winners and appreciated the collective efforts of her team, including faculty members Prof. Deepti Joshi, Prof. Ashwani Tandon, Prof. Garima Goyal, Dr. E. Jaishankar, Dr. Tanya Sharma, Dr. Jai Chaurasia, as well as all resident doctors and staff. The ceremony was also attended by Dean (Academics) Prof. Rajneesh Joshi and the head of the Anatomy Department, Prof. Bardha Rathinam.
