CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The Government of India, Ministry of Labor and Employment, through the Labor Welfare Organization, allows children of bidi and mine workers to apply for financial assistance under the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for the pre-matric category until September 30, 2024, for the year 2024-25. The deadline for applying for the post-matric category is set for October 31.
For the academic year 2024-25, the education financial assistance scheme provides scholarships ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹25,000 for children of bidi, limestone, dolomite, and low-manganese-chrome ore mine workers in Madhya Pradesh, enrolled in recognized educational institutions from class one to higher education. Eligible students can begin the online application process on the National Scholarship Portal at https://scholarships.gov.in, which started on June 30 and will continue until September 30.
