CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: The National Science Day 2026 celebration was organized at Rabindranath Tagore University with great enthusiasm, academic excellence, and extensive student participation. This year’s theme was “Women in Science: Catalysts for a Developed India.” The three-day event was conducted with the support of the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MPCST), Bhopal.
The program was inaugurated under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Ravi Prakash Dubey. The inaugural session was attended by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Gupta, Registrar Sangeeta Johri, Dean of the Faculty of Science Ankit Agrawal, along with faculty members and students. In his address, Ravi Prakash Dubey emphasized that science and innovation play a crucial role in building a developed India, and the participation of women in this field is steadily strengthening.
The event featured expert lectures, science exhibitions, student competitions, interactive sessions, and awareness activities. The objective of these programs was to develop a scientific temperament among students and highlight the contribution of women in the fields of science and research.
The valedictory ceremony began with a science rally and a science song. Key speakers included Charanjit Kaur, Principal of Career College, and Ashish Srivastava, Dean of the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal. They highlighted that the increasing participation of women in science is an important step toward making the country self-reliant and developed.
Dr. Sudeshna Ray, Director of AMRL at the university, delivered a lecture emphasizing the leadership role of women in science and technology. The event witnessed active participation from the Dean of Student Welfare, faculty members, and a large number of students.
During the program, winners of various competitions were honored with trophies and certificates. The event was conducted by students of the Faculty of Science under the guidance of Bhavana Agrawal and Suchi Modi.
On the concluding day, university representatives also participated in the state-level National Science Day celebration organized by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology at Rabindranath Tagore University.
Finally, Preeti Singh, Program Coordinator and Coordinator of the C. V. Raman Science Communication Centre, delivered the vote of thanks.
