CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: One-Day National Seminar on Science’s Role in Achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals Held at JNCT Professional University, Bhopal

A one-day MPCST-sponsored National Seminar on the theme “The Role of Science in Achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals” was successfully organized at Jai Narayan College of Pharmacy (JNCP), JNCT Professional University, Bhopal, on the occasion of National Science Day 2025.

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Vijay Kumar, Former Outstanding Scientist & Associate Director, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, and Senior Professor, Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai. In his keynote address, he emphasized the need to empower Indian youth for global leadership in science and innovation.

On this occasion, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Arya, Independent Director (IICA), Chief Scientist & Former Director General, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and Senior Scientist at Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology (MPCST), Bhopal, also shared his insights. Additionally, Dr. Nitesh Kumar Jain, Professor & HOD, Department of Pharmacology, Modern Group of Institutions, Indore (MP), highlighted the critical role of research in scientific advancements.

The event witnessed the honorable presence of Jai Narayan Chouksey, Founder & Chairman – JNCT, and Mrs. Pooja Shri Chouksey, Secretary, JNCT, Director, LNCT Group, and Founder, Kalakunj Foundation. The Registrar of the University, Dr. Mohit Pandya, was also present.

The seminar featured several technical sessions and expert presentations, focusing on the collaboration and knowledge-sharing required in the fields of science and artificial intelligence technologies. Eminent experts from across India, including the Chief Scientist and Former Director, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh, shared their views on the subject.

Dr. Dilip Kumar Bharti, Principal, JNCP Bhopal, and Seminar Chairperson, stated that this event provided an excellent platform for academicians, researchers, and students to discuss various aspects of science and understand its significance in achieving sustainable development goals.

More than 300 students and faculty members from various institutions actively participated in the event, presenting their ideas on the latest research and innovations in science. A poster and oral presentation competition was also organized for students, covering different aspects related to the seminar’s theme.
