CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: National Sports Day was celebrated in memory of Major Dhyan Chand at Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Postgraduate (Autonomous) College, Bhopal. The program began with Principal Deepti Srivastava offering floral tributes to the statue of Major Dhyan Chand. The Principal encouraged students to actively participate in sports and remembered Major Dhyan Chand as an Olympic hockey player and “Magician of Hockey.”

As part of the program, a speech competition was organized by the Swami Vivekananda Career Guidance Cell and the Department of Sports. Students participated enthusiastically in the competition. In the results, Khushi Rathore secured first place, Anjali Gurjar second place, and Sanjana Lodhi third place.

In the concluding session, Dr. Chhaya Chandravanshi, In-charge of the Department of Sports, addressed the students on the importance of sports and their contribution to physical and mental development. The active cooperation of all sports department students made the event a success.

This celebration enhanced awareness and enthusiasm among students towards sports. National Sports Day not only remembered the achievements of Major Dhyan Chand but also highlighted the significance of sports and career guidance.
