CNN Central News & Network–ITDC India Epress/ITDC News Bhopal: Under the “Vishva Rang” initiative, the Vanmali Srijan Peeth, Rabindranath Tagore University, Scope Global Skills University, and ISECT Publication are organizing the Vanmali Katha Awards Ceremony. The inauguration of the Vanmali Katha Awards Ceremony will take place at Scope Global Skills University. The program will commence with the opening of an art exhibition, followed by a Kabir recital by Padma Shri awardee Prahlad Singh Tipaniya.

The National Vanmali Katha Awards Ceremony will honor distinguished personalities from across the country in eight different categories. During the event, the chief guest will be the eminent literary figure and Jnanpith Award winner, Pratibha Rai, whose gracious presence will add prestige to the program.

The Vanmali Katha Sheersh Award will be presented to renowned author Mridula Garg, and the National Vanmali Katha Award will be conferred upon senior storyteller Alka Sarawagi. Both authors will be felicitated with a shawl, shreephal (coconut), citation, and a cash prize of INR 1 lakh each.

Notably, the Vanmali Srijan Peeth has, this year, given special emphasis to story translation in its series of awards. To promote global recognition for story translation, the first Vanmali Katha Translation Award will be presented to senior writer and translator Jitendra Bhatia.

Vanmali Katha Madhya Pradesh Award – Senior storyteller Urmila Shirish (Bhopal)

Vanmali Young Story Award – Young storyteller Kunal Singh

Vanmali Katha-Tar (Non-Story) Award – Yatindra Mishra from Ayodhya

Vanmali Digital Literary Contribution Award – Anjum Sharma, for significant contributions to literature through digital media

All awardees will be honored with a shawl, shreephal, citation, and a cash prize of INR 51,000 each.
